Our Story

Once upon a time, in the bustling city of Pune, there lived a couple named Bharat and Darshana. Both were in peak of their career of Software Engineer, Professor living a life that many would envy. They had luxurious apartments, high-paying jobs, and all the modern amenities one could desire. But as the world grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic, their perspective on life began to shift.

The lockdowns and the chaos of the city had given them time to reflect on what truly mattered. The couple had always shared a deep love for nature, organic farming and the pandemic served as a wake-up call. They realized that their corporate jobs, although financially rewarding, were not fulfilling their souls. They yearned for a more meaningful life, one that was closer to nature and away from the chaos of city life.

One day, as Bharat and Darshana decided to move away from the city life with a vision to set up a sustainable integrated farming systems, where they can grow their own food, herbs, cattle’s with stay option for like-minded visitors, lived off the land, and embraced a sustainable way of life. This idea struck a chord with Bharat and Darshana.

After much contemplation and countless discussions, they decided to take a leap of faith. They left their high-paying jobs, and packed their bags with there son to embark on a journey to the unexplored northern Himalayan region of Uttarakhand.

Their destination was a remote village nestled in the lap of the mountains, where the air was pure, the mountain rivers pristine, and the views breathtaking. It was a place untouched by the hustle and bustle of city life. Here, they planned to set up their own integrated farming system, where they would grow organic vegetables, raise livestock, and live in harmony with nature.

Their arrival was met with curiosity and skepticism from the villagers, who were accustomed to a traditional way of life. However, Bharat and Darshana were determined to learn from the local community and integrate their knowledge with modern farming techniques. They started by building a small cottage using local materials and solar panels to generate their electricity.

The couple's journey was not without challenges. They had to learn about the local climate, soil conditions, and farming practices. They made friends with the villagers who shared their wisdom and taught them the secrets of sustainable farming in the Himalayas. Gradually, Bharat and Darshana transformed a piece of rocky terrain into a lush green farm.

As the seasons changed, their farm flourished. They grew a variety of crops, from organic vegetables to fragrant herbs. They raised goats and cows for fresh milk. The couple also introduced sustainable irrigation systems to conserve water, and they even planted fruit trees that would bear fruit for years to come.

Darshana, who had previously been a professor, started a small alternate school where she taught the village children, sharing her knowledge and love for education. Bharat used his software skills to create a website that helped them sell their organic produce to a wider market, bringing much-needed income to the village.

Within a short span of time Bharat and Darshana's integrated farming system is now becoming a model of sustainability and self-sufficiency. Their once-lavish city life was a distant memory, replaced by the simple joys of waking up to the melodious chirping of birds and watching the sunrise over the majestic Himalayan peaks.

The pandemic had forced them to reevaluate their priorities, leading them to a life that was not only fulfilling but also had a positive impact on the environment and the local community. Bharat and Darshana had found their true calling in the northern Himalayas, and in doing so, they had discovered the beauty of living in harmony with nature, a lesson they would cherish for the rest of their lives.
